Yeah, I make tea for the hens ??
Because fennel and nettle tea supports their eggs production ?

The intention is not to have them produce more eggs
Because each hen only makes the number of eggs that she’s going to
So you don’t really wanna speed that up
But you do wanna support the egg production system so that it can stay as healthy as possible

I make some fennel and nettle tea, then I add mint mostly to hide that licorice taste
Because hens do have a little bit of taste buds, not as strong as humans
The Fennel, nettle and mint all steep together
I make 2 quarts at a time which lasts for 2 weeks
After it’s steeped in put it in (2) 1-quart containers and add raspberries
One container in the fridge for the week
And the other in the freezer for next week.
When prepping their bowl, I put in a bunch of other berries

Because they love berries so much…
It will get them to drink the tea.

So I’m gonna show you how I put that together, and then I’ll take you outside with me when I give it to them so you can see how much they love it. (see the video on my Facebook page)

In the bowl is cut up berries… I’ve got blackberries, strawberries, and some leftover grapes ? ?
I’ll add some frozen blueberries, just because it’s a hot day today,
So I’ll give them something a little super cold.
I then pour in half the container of tea (half of the raspberries and mint too)
And then we’ll go outside.
They know what the tea bowl looks like.
They all gather at the door, waiting for me to get in and put it down.
Sometimes they even jump up on me and don’t quite even let me in the door.
They can barely wait until I get it put down.

They each have their own favorite part.
Some of them prefer the blueberries.
Some of them prefer the mint.
Some of them prefer the strawberries.
But the whole idea of the berries being in there is to get them to drink the tea.

So help support your hens reproductive system by giving them high tea a few afternoons a week. Show them some love ❤️❤️❤️
