Herbs for remedies and prevention…
I do that not only for us, but also for our animals.

Mostly the chickens, more than the dogs.

There’s all different things that you can use herbs for…
For the animals…
They can be used for antibacterials.
They can be used for antibiotics if the animal seems to not be feeling well.
You can use them for antiparasites, so to keep the mites and lice away
You can also use it as a worm prevention so that they don’t get tapeworms, roundworms and ringworms, that animals can get from running around in the yard.
But they can also be used for prevention for things like bone strength
You can put the calming herbs in the nest box for the hens, as they’re laying their eggs.
There are herbs that help the hens with egg production.
It doesn’t make them produce more eggs because each hen has only got so many eggs in her. And that’s all she’s gonna produce in her lifetime. So the herbs aren’t gonna make her produce any more eggs than she would have. It just keeps her reproductive system healthy.
And you can also give certain herbs to make the color of the egg yolk be that real deep orange.
I’ve got an herb box with a grow light, in the house, that’s got herbs in it for us and for the hens.
I’ve also got a stack of books here that I wanna show you.
These are some of the books that I use for reference when I need to look stuff up.
If you are so inclined to keep things natural
And you wanna get into using herbs for prevention and remedies
Then you can look into some of these books.
There’s a lot of information out on the internet to find out about it.
There are people that make tinctures and mixtures that you can buy already done
So that you don’t have to worry about making the mixtures yourself
There’s even a company, a lady up north, that does it specifically for poultry.
I use some of her remedies, and they work really well.
You can do a lot with natural herbs.
See what research you can find.
